The War Memorial at All Saints' Church

The War Memorial bears the following inscriptions:

TO THE GLORY OF GOD & IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF MEN FROM THIS PARISH WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 AND IN 1939 - 1945.

ALSO TO THE MEMORY OF ALL THOSE MEN AND WOMEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SERVICE OF THIS COUNTRY BUT WHOSE NAMES ARE NOT RECORDED HERE. THEY DIED AT SEA, ON LAND AND IN AIR IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND PEACE.

TRUE LOVE BY LIFE, TRUE LOVE BY DEATH IS TRIED. LIVE THOU FOR ENGLAND, WE FOR ENGLAND DIED
